Dr. Shuler and I are excited and honored to be caring for your pets. Portland became our home in 1999 after we completed our doctorates in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. I started my career at a 24-hour emergency facility and quickly realized I missed the relationships that general family medicine could provide. While practicing at Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital in Beaverton, I completed my master’s in Public Health from Oregon Health Sciences University. I was accepted into the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. In Spring 2008, we came home to Portland to take ownership of NW Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital. I have a strong interest in promoting preventative medicine and overall health and wellness for our four-legged family members.
Our family has changed quite a bit since returning to Portland including the addition of Scooby-Doo, a 6-year-old orange tabby, and Hank, a 1-year-old hound mix.
